Draft Publications

On this page, you can see what's coming next from Federal Student Aid. When we're working on a new publication, we'll post it here so you can take a look and (if you like) send us your feedback.

Current Draft Publications

Early college awareness booklet. We are working on a booklet to encourage middle school students to start thinking about and preparing for college. The booklet covers these topics:

  • When should you consider college?
  • Why think about college now?
  • What can a college education do for me?
  • Where do I start?
  • Who can help me go to college?
  • How will I pay for college?

We haven't decided on a title for the publication yet. The current draft is called "The Lowdown on College," but we're not sure that's the most attractive title to middle school students. Other ideas for the title include:

  • My Future, My Way: How to Go and How to Pay
  • Bridging the Gap: First to Know, First to Go
  • Adventures Ahead: Learn, Grow, and Go
  • Get Money: I Can Be...and Get Paid!
If you're a student, aged 12 to 15, feel free to send us your thoughts. (No grown-ups allowed!)
