Resources for Counseling Families on Preparing Financially for College
As the National Training for Counselors and Mentors (NT4CM) 2007 Pilot Program (for academic year 2008–09) comes to a close, preparations for launching the 2009–10 academic year initiative are well underway.
This year, NT4CM plans to expand its reach by increasing the number of training sessions and participating states to advance its mission: to provide free training, information, resources, and tools regarding federal, state, and local financial aid programs for counselors and mentors working with students and their families.

Tools and Resources You Need to Counsel Students and Families Preparing Financially for College
National Training for Counselors and Mentors (NT4CM), a new initiative launching in Fall 2007, will provide free training, information, resources and tools regarding federal, state, and local financial aid programs for counselors and mentors working with students and their families. The program is sponsored by Federal Student Aid, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs.
To be held in a variety of locations around the country, the approximately
4-6 hour training program will offer up-to-date information, as well as ongoing information designed to keep counselors and mentors in the loop on developments and new opportunities.
