FAFSA Updates

Federal Student Aid is pleased to provide you with a summary of changes for the 2008-09 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Click here to view the Summary of Changes for the Application Processing System 2008-09. This document covers changes to the FAFSA questions, our application-related Web sites, and the application process.

Click here to view the Process Guide for Student Web Application Products. This guide looks more specifically at changes to FAFSA on the Web, FAFSA4caster, and the PIN site. It is a shorter and more narrowly focused document than the Summary of Changes.

Tell your students: the first F in "FAFSA" stands for "free!" There are Web sites at which students can get help filing the FAFSA for a fee. These sites are not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). We urge you to advise your students not to pay these sites for assistance that is provided for free at ED's Web site.
